Chris Jones

MericaChris found CrossFit in 2008 while serving in the Air Force as a Special Operations Combat Controller. He felt CrossFit was much more effective than previous training programs in keeping in shape and preparing him for whatever came his way while deployed.

Following active duty, he joined the Oregon Air National Guard in Portland, Oregon and finished his undergraduate degree at the University of Portland. While in the Northwest, Chris continued doing CrossFit and competed at the Northwest CrossFit Regionals as an individual in 2010, and on his affiliate team (CrossFit Lake Oswego) in 2011, 2012, and 2013.

He earned his Level 1 and Mobility certifications in 2011, and coached at CrossFit Lake Oswego for 2 years before moving to D.C. Chris definitely drinks the CrossFit Kool-Aid and completely believes in the methodology as a way to effectively stay in shape not only for the rigors of military combat but also everyday life. Outside of the gym, Chris loves skiing and surfing and is currently a law student at The George Washington University Law School.
